19/01/08Ahhh well now we begin. Been searching through the word wide interweb to try and find some lovely people to give me free stuff to auction off to other lovely people to raise money for that wonderful organisation Cancer Research UK. Had some luck, had some bad luck too. Some people who obviously don't want to read about charity things and just delete emails without reading them which is lovely. Got a few riders committed to coming along and met a nice man called Petrid and his gorgeous missus who have offered to donate money to the cause even though they are saving up to travel the world!!
That's the kind of people who we need more of in the world, people who are willing to help other people.
21/01/08Been a bit of a tough weekend. I had one reply in my inbox from a lovely lady at
pitstop cauldron promising some items towards the auction (waiting for these to arrive before listing in the auction section). Then nothing. It was a bit depressing to be honest. But this morning I had a few responses on my works email and
mad on motorbikes have promised to send a few things, also
geeza products and the lovely
rebel artist have promised items as well. So after one day of feeling a bit down in the dumps I had some wonderful people offer their time and money to help out the challenge! How cool is that!
Also we have actual people other then me logging on and doing stuff to add to the site! All of a sudden the world has its rosy tint again.
Hmmm does anyone know who makes those comical things that stick to your lid? The mohawk type things? I think they need an email....
23/01/08Wow Last night was fun. Got home from work, the better half pointed out the letters from the postman saying we had TWO parcels and they were too big for the letter box. Great, must be stuff for the auction. So we rushed down to the local post office to find the magical purveyor of postal items behind his shiny screen. And out comes two rather large parcels for me as expected. Rushed back to the car and opened the packaging. The wonderful people at Pitstop Cauldron have sent, as promised, a "Bikers Welcome" welcome mat and a "Motorcycles Only" Parking sign. Also Maddie from Mad on motorcycles has sent me a dog riding a spark-plug chopper, a motorbike mad duck, some moto GP patches, moto GP stickers and a moto GP pen!!! I will post up some photo's of them all tonight in the auction section.
I felt like a kid at Christmas! And I will
so be bidding on that welcome mat myself!!!
25/01/08I'm getting good at this begging stuff. Just called Jenny (wonderful lady) at my local Honda Dealership. When I took the CG in for her last service I mentioned all the rubbish work I am doing here and she promised she would think of something for the auction for me. So, hadn't heard from her for a bit and thought it was time I gave her this website (so hello to all at Coburn and Hughes in Luton you wonderful pea pods you), and mentioned the auction again. We now have a data tool force 2 ground anchor to add to the ever growing collection of things to auction off. Thanks Jen and co. I owe you ohhhh I'd say at least around of homemade cup cakes for that!!!
See ya'll soon.
27/01/08Just seen Mav, Rainy, Jon, Oma and Sotto Voce off after having them round for bacon butties. They were near the 125 HQ on a ride and I figured I'd have them over here rather then them heading off to a greasy spoon. Well as they left, bless them they gave me what they would have spent in a cafe towards the 125 target.. I am sitting in here crying as I type this. I cannot believe the generosity of people. Some days its hard to believe how nice people are. Thanks Guys. Safe journey's home.

Just been on the phone to Cancer Research to update my contact their with our progress and they are very shocked by the response we have had so far. Normally it is hard to get companies and people not involved in the event to donate time/money/stock so I would like to thank everyone how has supported this event so far, but don't start slacking now, we've got a long way to go!!!
