The 125 Challenge

The 125 Challenge is now on Facebook!! Click Here to visit.

What is the 125 Challenge I hear you ask? Well this is a 125 mile ride on a 125cc motorbike to raise £1250 for Cancer Research UK.

We will be heading out from The Bell pub in Pitstone on the 28th of June at 10:00 going to the Orange County Chopper shop in Hemsby. Collecting riders on all makes models and types of motorbike on route. At the OCC shop there will be an oppotunity for you to have your picture taken on one of the famous bikes, each photograph will require a minimum donation of £5 to the challenge fund.

Not only that, with the support of race tracks, bike kit manufacturers, bike related gift-ware sites and some other wonderful individuals forum there will be an on-line auction here too! Ambassador you spoil us!

Keep checking in for updates on progress and Punky's Blog (my incessant ramblings on what I am trying to achieve, who I have met organising this mad event and what I think of the whole thing!!!)

Feel free to browse the Just Giving website.

CALLING ALL RIDERS. CALLING ALL RIDERS.

If you are interested in riding the 125 challenge, please send me an email (the125challenge@yahoo.com) letting me know you are coming and if you require breakfast at the Bell (please note breakfast will cost £1 50p of each will go to the challenge fund). I will also need to know if you require accomidation at the Hemsby end. If you require accomidation at the Pitstone end I am afraid you will have to arrange that yourself, sorry.

Yep, Steph and a group of others completed the "125 Challenge" on Saturday and I have to say, as one of the riders, what an excellent day it was. I understand the weather forecast put off some riders from coming along but the day went very well with Steph's organisation and the help of many (Andrew, Russ and others).

We were a small group of riders but all in great spirits and up for the journey and it proved to be a memorable ride in good weather. Gary got lost (I've never met him before...or any of the others for that matter...) but caught up with us at the end...literally.

Rob (with Jules as pillion), Gary, Chris, Ian (with Claire as pillion), Steph (with nobody as pillion because that'd be hard on a 125) and me plus Andrew and Russ in the support vehicle. I'm not talking Long Way "somewhere" here just a bunch of people who were happy to support Steph (Punky) on her challenge.

The hardest ride was in the mini-dodgems later on Saturday night after the pub closed. Talk about legs up-to-the -chin shananagins (and thats only the blokes !).

Steph - thanks for all the hard work and organising you put into this AND EVERYONE WHO SPONSORED THE EVENT..........JUST PAY UP.
